DECORATIVE PAINTING
for Beginner & Intermediate Students

Classes meet once a week on Thursdays
October 8th to Decemeber 20th, 2007
6:30 - 8:30 pm
Course fee $500
This is a hands-on class

Students will learn techniques of design and application of decorative arts, with an emphasis on classical Italian craft. A wide range of surface treatments will be taught, including wall glazing, Venetian Plaster, Guilding, basic Faux-techniques and basic floor painting. Pattern design will be explored from different sources, such as Roman Mosaic floors, Historical Textiles seen in Italian Masters and more. Each application will be taught with the help of Spolvero Transfer for hand paintings, design and use of stencils and a demonstration of Silk-screen Printing. Students, throughout the class, will practice techniques associated with Hand painting projects and will produce a varity of samples to use in their Portfolio.

School of Applied Arts

Lucretia will be a visiting instructor at the School of Applied Arts in Denver Colorado, teaching a workshop in Silkscreen Application for Decorative Faux-Painted Surfaces and Fabrics.
